Apples are often one of the most popular fruits among children and adults alike. While apple and cinnamon are a common combination in drinks, pies and pastries, I find that feijoa compliments this combination perfectly, while adding a slight thickness to your apple juice.
This apple juice recipe is the perfect drink to refresh and energize after a sports game, workout or any heavy physical activity. Not only do apples provide a tasty refreshment, the health benefits of this everyday fruit are endless. Apples are an excellent source of vitamins A and C, dietary fibre and potassium. Recent research indicates that apples play an active role in preventing some cancers, and relieve the symptoms of asthma, not to mention they are a strong everyday antioxidant. Cinnamon is another extremely useful food that we generally don't consume alot of. As well as adding a delicious zing to the apple juice recipe, cinnamon is a good source of magnesium, iron and calcium. The cinnaldehyde in cinnamon acts to reduce blood clotting which can lead to heart attacks, stroke, and other serious conditions. Feijoa and lime are another two fruits we generally don't eat alot of and are a good source of sodium, phosphorus and selenium.
